1960:

November 19 - Birth of Matt Sorum.

1962:

February 6 - Birth of Axl Rose (William Bruce Rose).

1963:

April 8 - Birth of Dizzy Reed.

1964:

February 5 - Birth of Duff "Rose" McKagan (Michael McKagan).

1965:

July 23 - Birth of Slash (Saul Hudson).

January 22 - Birth of Steven "Popcorn" Adler.

1984/1985:

Guns n' Roses evolve from two Los Angeles Bands , "Hollywood Rose" and "LA Guns".

1985:

June - Slash & Steve of ROAD CREW join in time for Guns n' Roses brief "Hell Tour"- first gigs by the "classic" line up.

1986:

August - Guns n' Roses sign to Geffen Records.

December - Guns n' Roses release their Live?!#@ Like A Suicide EP, in a limited edition of 10,000 vinyl copies, on Uzi Suicide Records )a pseudo-independent imprint created by Geffen for the band).

1987:

June - The band fly to London for their European debut, three (non-consecutive) nights at the Marquee club.

August - Appetite For Destruction released.

November - Guns N' Roses return to the UK for a five-date headlining tour.

1988:

August - Third European visit, to play Monsters Of Rock At Castle Donington in the UK. Tragically, two fans are killed in the crush in front of the stage.

December  - Guns N' Roses Lies-The Sex, The Drugs, The Violence, The Shocking Truth is released with four new acoustic tracks plus the four tracks from Live?!#@ Like A Suicide.

1989:

October - The band play four packed gigs with the Rolling Stones at the Los Angeles Colliseum.

1990:

April - The band play the Farm Aid concert and recruit Dizzy Reed, the first 'new' member of Guns N' Roses, to play keyboards.

August - Ex-Cult drummer Matt Sorum is recruited.

1991:

July - Guns N' Roses find themselves in the middle of a riot at the Riverport Arts Centre in St. Louis and a warrant is issued for Axl's arrest for inciting it.

August - The band play European stadium gigs for a month.

September - The band finally release Use Your Illusion I & II. Izzy Stradlin is rumoured to have quit the band only days later.

October - Steven Adler files legal proceedings against Guns N' Roses.

November - Izzy's departure made official.

1992:

April 6 - Guns N' Roses appear at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert For AIDS Awareness.

May - Slash and Metallica's Lars Ulrich announce a joint summer tour of America, before Guns N' Roses play another serious of European dates.

July - Guns N' Roses and Metallica begin their 25-date US tour.

August - A riot follows a disrupted Guns N' Roses set in Montreal, Canada.

October - Izzy releases his first solo album Izzy Stradlin And The Ju Ju Hounds.

November - Guns N' Roses tour South America.

December - Guns N' Roses release two concert videos: Use Your Illusion World Tour and Live In Tokyo Volumes I & II.

1993:

January - Pacific tour covers Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

February - American touring continues, with a slimmed-down line-up and a new title 'Skin And Bones'.

May - Izzy Stradlin briefly rejoins the band for European dates including gigs in the UK, Greece and Israel.

July - The world touring finally ends with a return to Brazil.

September - The band settle their legal differences with Steven Adler, with a $2.5 million out-of-court payment.

October - Duff McKagan releases Believe In Me, a solo album recorded during the band's world tour.

November - The punk EP is finally released as a full-length album of varied cover-versions, called "The Spaghetti Incident?".

1994:

Guns N' Roses release the single to the Rolling Stones cover Sympathy For The Devil, it appeared on the movie Interview With The Vampire.

- Gilby releases his first solo album Pawnshop Guitars.

1995:

- Slash releases his first solo album Slash's Snakepit.

1996:

- Duff and Matt release a self-titled album in the band called Neurotic Outsiders.

1997:

- Gilby releases his second solo album The Hangover.

1998: 

- Izzy releases his second solo album 117?.

February 10 - Axl is arrested in a Pheonix airport for "disorderly conduct".

- Duff releases a self-titled album for the first band he was ever in, 10 Minute Warning.

September - Gilby releases his third solo album, "Rubber".

1999:

- Gilby releases new album called Live '99 

November 30 - Guns n' Roses releases Double Live CD-set called "LIVE ERA '87-'93".
